Field Notes Inside an Integrated Communications Agency

A life vest for producers

Jonell from Fidelity FMR sent me a URL that changed my life. It brought tears to the eyes of one of our Producers when she saw it. The other 5 people I sent it to vowed to check the site to help solve problems in the future.

What was this life-changing site?

An online community site for interactive producers called Produce the World (http://www.producetheworld.com/).

YAY!!

GregFlynn, I have similar fears, but hope, hope, hope our attention might help the search party. Our Producers will be happy to contribute.

This is May 29. The first post was March 31. The last post was April 28. That's about 30 days on and 30 days off.

It may be a life vest, but someone needs to send out a search party.

I've gone through and skimmed the first few posts here, and am blown away by the opportunity for my beloved producers to have a place to vent and share. The conflicts and sources of stress must be incredibly familiar to anyone who's tried to wrangle an out-of-control project. My heart goes out to all of you on a daily, sometimes hourly basis.

Developers and UXDs have tons of social web sites, but this is the first I have heard of for producers. Kudos to the creators for dedicating this resource to them, because they're often the unsung hero's in interactive communications.
